IPA honors Strite design + remodel with annual Award
The Idaho Psychological Association awarded Strite design + remodel with their annual Psychologically Healthy Workplace award. This program rewards employers for creating workplaces that foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance. Each applicant was judged on criteria including: employee involvement; health and saftey; employee growth and development; work-life balance; and employee recognition.

A kitchen (and home) renewed for the Nowierski family

THE WISH LIST: A kitchen isn't simply a place to prepare food and wash dishes. It can be a party place, a study area and a home office. It is often the home base for a busy family, and as such, it shifts from one purpose to the next. Shawn and Laurie Nowierski wanted their kitchen working to its fullest potential. The space was tight for this family of four. And the layout was outdated. The North Boise ranch-style home, built in the mid-1970s, had a small kitchen with a peninsula, but the bar area wasn't long enough or deep enough to serve as a workspace, eating area or serving station when entertaining. The bay window and fireplace on the other end of the room were cozy, but not easy spaces to design around and didn't work for the busy family. "It was always this really awkward space that we really didn't need," Laurie says.
